Product Questions

Installing the Touchscreen

How do I set up my new Touch Screen Guru monitor?
Our monitors are designed for "Plug and Play" simplicity.

  1. Video: Connect your monitor to your computer using the provided HDMI or DisplayPort cable.
  2. Touch Functionality: Connect the included USB cable from the monitor’s USB-B port to a USB-A port on your computer.
  3. Power: Plug in the power adapter and turn the monitor on. Your operating system should automatically recognize both the display and the touch interface. Check for blue power light to ensure power is on.

Operating the Touchscreen

Does the screen work like a tablet or a smartphone?
Yes! Our monitors utilize advanced touch technology that supports familiar gestures like tapping, swiping, and pinch-to-zoom. Because our screens are 10-point multi-touch, you can use multiple fingers (or even both hands) simultaneously for collaborative work, gaming, or complex professional applications.

Calibrating the Touchscreen

My touch is slightly off-center. How do I fix it?
Most modern operating systems handle calibration automatically. However, if the touch point doesn't align with your finger:

  • Windows: Open the Control Panel, go to Tablet PC Settings, and click Calibrate. Follow the on-screen crosshairs to reset your alignment.
  • Mac/Linux: Calibration is typically handled through the driver dashboard or system display settings.

Touchscreen Drivers

All touchscreen monitors are compatible with OS X, Android, Windows and Linux. Drivers may be needed.

Do I need to install special software for the touch to work?
For most users on Windows, Android, and Linux, no drivers are required—the monitors are HID-compliant, meaning they work right out of the box.

  • Note for Mac Users: Depending on your macOS version and specific model, you may need a dedicated driver to enable multi-touch gestures. Please contact our support team for the latest driver link.

PCAP Multi-Touch Panel

What is a PCAP panel and why is it better?
PCAP stands for Projected Capacitive technology—the same high-end tech found in modern smartphones. Unlike older "resistive" screens that require pressure, PCAP detects the electrical change from your touch. This results in a highly responsive, crystal-clear glass surface that is more durable, easier to clean, and supports seamless multi-touch gestures.

IP65

What does an IP65 rating mean for my monitor?
An IP65 rating means the front of your monitor is "dust-tight" and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes our monitors ideal for "heavy-duty" environments like kitchens, industrial shop floors, or high-traffic public kiosks where spills, dust, and frequent cleaning are common.

Wall Mounting

Can I mount these monitors to a wall or arm?
Absolutely. All Touch Screen Guru monitors are VESA-compliant, meaning they feature industry-standard mounting patterns. Depending on the size of your monitor, the rear housing includes one of the following hole patterns:

  • 75 x 75 mm or 100 x 100 mm (Standard for desk arms and small mounts)
  • 200 x 200 mm or 400 x 200 mm (Standard for heavy-duty wall mounts)
These patterns ensure compatibility with almost any universal wall mount, desk arm, or floor stand on the market.

Connections

What ports are available on the monitor?
To accommodate a wide range of professional setups, our monitors offer various connectivity options. Input connections may differ by model; please refer to your specific product’s spec sheet for exact details. Generally, our displays include:

  • Video: HDMI, DisplayPort, or VGA.
  • Touch: USB-B or USB-C for touch data transmission.
  • Audio: Integrated speakers and/or 3.5mm audio jacks.

Unclear or Blurry Image

Why does the screen look fuzzy or distorted?
This is usually caused by an incorrect resolution setting. For the sharpest image, ensure your computer is set to the Native Resolution of the monitor (e.g., 3840x2160 for 4K models). You can find this in your computer's Display Settings. Also, check that your HDMI or DisplayPort cable is fully seated.

Touch is Not Recognized

The display works, but the touch isn't responding. What should I do?

  1. Ensure the USB touch cable is securely plugged into both the monitor and the computer.
  2. Try a different USB port on your computer (direct ports are better than USB hubs).
  3. Open Device Manager (Windows) and check under "Human Interface Devices" to see if "HID-compliant touch screen" is listed and enabled.

Touch Keeps Disconnecting

Why does my touch functionality cut in and out?
This is often related to power-saving settings.

  • Windows Fix: Go to Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID-compliant touch screen > Properties > Power Management. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
  • Cables: Ensure you are using the provided cable; excessively long USB extensions can sometimes cause signal dropouts.

No Signal Message

My monitor says "No Signal" even though the computer is on.

  • Check Input: Press the "Source" or "Input" button on the monitor to ensure it is set to the correct port (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, or DisplayPort).
  • Reset Connection: Unplug the video cable from both ends and plug it back in firmly.
  • Test Another Device: Try connecting a different laptop or device to the monitor to rule out a computer-side hardware issue.

USB Cable Length

How far can I mount the monitor from my computer?
Our monitors typically include a standard 6ft (1.8m) USB cable for touch data.

  • Standard Limits: High-speed USB signals generally travel up to 15 feet without signal loss.
  • Long Distance: If your installation requires a longer distance, we recommend using an Active USB Extension cable or a USB-over-Ethernet extender to ensure the touch response remains fast and accurate.

Protective or Anti Glare Film

Does the screen show reflections or fingerprints?
Many of our professional-grade monitors come equipped with specialized surface treatments:

  • Anti-Glare (AG): This matte-like finish scatters incoming light, significantly reducing reflections from overhead office lights or windows, making the screen easier to read in bright environments.
  • Anti-Fingerprint (AF): An oleophobic coating is applied to the glass to resist natural oils from your skin. This minimizes visible smudges and makes the glass much smoother to the touch.

Cleaning Your Screen

How should I clean my touchscreen without damaging it?
Proper maintenance will extend the lifespan of your monitor.

  1. Turn off the power: Always clean the screen while it is powered down.
  2. Use Microfiber: Use a clean, dry microfiber cloth to wipe away dust.
  3. Mild Solution: For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with a solution of 70% Isopropyl Alcohol or a dedicated screen/glass cleaner.
  4. Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Never use ammonia-based cleaners (like Windex), abrasive pads, or spray liquid directly onto the glass, as moisture could seep into the bezel.
